WELCOME TO LUBLIN! European Youth Capital of 2023

Poland is a fascinating country with a rich cultural heritage and traditions, making it an attractive tourist destination. Most tourist attractions are connected with diversified natural environment like mountains, sea-cost forests and lakes, cultural events and historical sites. Few facts about Poland:

  1. Poland boasts numerous historical cities like Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Wroclaw, which have preserved most of their architecture and atmosphere.

  8. Bialowieza National Park is one of the last places on earth where you can see free-roaming European bison, the heaviest land animal in Europe. The Bialowieza Forest is home to around 800 of them.
  9. Many tourists are drawn to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest of former German Nazi concentration and extermination camps, to understand the history of the Holocaust and honour its victims.
  10. Poland hosts numerous festivals and cultural events throughout the year, from the Gdynia Film Festival to various music and art festivals.


Lublin is the largest and most dynamically developing city east of the Vistula River. It captivates tourists with its rich history, culture, and nature. The heart of Lublin is the beautiful Old Town, where the past intertwines with the present. Picturesque old buildings and charming streets allow tourists to feel the atmosphere of past centuries. One of Lublin’s most important and recognizable symbols is Lublin Castle. This impressive structure proudly overlooks the city and offers a magnificent view of the surroundings.

For history and culture enthusiasts, the Museum of the Lublin Village is a perfect place to visit- a vast, open-air museum reflecting the region’s heritage and the spirit of past rural life. Another great place for leisurely walk is the Botanical Garden—an extensive, richly landscaped space full of vegetation from various parts of the world, transforming into a fairy-tale land during winter.

The city also attracts numerous pilgrims to places like the Archcathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Warsaw and St. John the Evangelist in Krakow or the Dominican Monastery in Tarnobrzeg. Lublin holds significant academic importance and in 2023, held the title of “European Youth Capital.” Numerous festivals, markets, and cultural events make it a destination of choice for many young people. Visitors can explore the highly valued regional cuisine during the annual Jagiellonian Fair, where traditional dishes like “cebularz” or “forszmak” are popular choices.

Not only culture but also sport plays significant role in Lublin. The city takes pride in its many teams competing at the highest levels, with some, like the basketball, speedway, or handball squads, reaching national championships. The city hosts major international sport events, recently welcoming the U23 3×3 Basketball World Championships.
